Leadership operating system

How I make engineering leadership more deliberate.

A set of principles for giving teams enough clarity to move with autonomy, while keeping product, technology, and people decisions in the same conversation.

  1. 01

    Clarity before velocity

If a team is moving fast in different directions, speed isn't helping.

  2. 02

    Autonomy needs context

People make better decisions when they understand why the decision matters.

  3. 03

    Architecture is a business decision

Technical debt, scalability, and cost ultimately become product decisions.

  4. 04

    Feedback should reduce surprises

Performance conversations shouldn't reveal something someone is hearing for the first time.

  5. 05

    AI needs economics

An AI feature isn't sustainable if nobody understands its unit economics.

Put these principles to work.

Bring an engineering leadership decision. The Decision Room responds from the public work, cases, and principles behind this portfolio.
